Krunan keikat is a series of monthly gatherings organised at the shared space of the residents association of an apartment building in Kruununhaka. These events bring together musicians and artists to share food and perform in a small, grassroots-based manner on weekend afternoons. Krunan keikat opens up the possibilities of using semi-public spaces for cultural events, while creating a small, welcoming environment dedicated to exploring the boundaries of art and music. Krunan keikat is curated by Hermanni Yli-Tepsa.
A special edition of Krunan keikat is presented as part of the 2015 Pixelache Festival's Helsinki Outside⋅In theme, which gathers several existing Helsinki-based cultural activities which seek to use their physical environments in different ways. Performing this time will be Patrick McGinley aka Murmer, facilitator of the festival's Echo Surveys for Living Spaces workshop, and Australian violinist Adam Cadell. Also featured will be a screening of the documentary TALOUSENNUSTAJAT, directed by Reetta Huhtanen. Vegan & vegetarian food will be provided.
Admission is free, though food (and seating) is limited.
